The sudoku made me do it...

The University Register is our school's weekly newspaper. I has a comic and puzzle page and on it is a weekly sudoku. This week's sudoku has a difficulty level of masochistic. I don't know where that falls in the easy/medium/hard rating system. But I can atest to it's difficulty. I have spent waaay too long on it. Like, at least two hours on it tonight. Had to start over twice and each time worked myself into a impossible solution. It's horrible. I've been relearning all my old techniques in how to solve this blasted puzzle. But yeah, it's hard.
I was going to post it, so you all could give it a shot, but I've had too many things ruined by people using online solvers. Sooo, maybe after I finish it.

Lesson Learned

Okay, so you should never unstring your guitar before checking that you have another set to put on. Ans also check to see if that set has all six strings. Otherwise you end up like me, with a four string guitar. Fantastic.

Run away, I wanna run away

I had a good week.
I wish people called more to hang out in Morris. It's different from the being home where that's the way people do it. People start calling each other and magically something happens. It's so easy. Here, I have been walking to people's houses to see if anything is going on. I think it's the main reason I don't hang out as much as I want to. It will always be easier playing it safe than risking disappointment. But after I got over the whole walking into someone's house uninvited it got better. People seem to like hanging out, but it just doesn't start the same here as at home.
I spend too much time thinking about seeing people that I get easily disappointed. I wish I didn't, but it's a side effect of the mentality here.
I'm going to go restring my guitar, maybe that will make it sound better.

Re: Install

The reinstall went great, nothing to hassling. It wouldn't let me resize my ubuntu partition to have two ubuntu's at the same time so I could have a crossover phase, but w/e. I have a while until my next class, like 2 hours, so I'm setting it all up nowish.
Things to do:
E-mail setup for 3 accounts
Theme it all (I can't wait to make it look pretty.)
Get back all my music, which is at home anyways.
Get back programs and set up defaults again
And other stuff I haven't noticed yet.

It's that time of the season

So I think I'm going to reinstall ubuntu. Yeah. It's gotten slow since the last clean install. Like, My ram never goes below 10% for some reason. Right now it's sitting at 19% used and I've been doing nothing. I've noticed it hanging on some operations and I want it a tad more streamlined. So it was either install a different distro like Debian or Fedora (I kinda want to try KDE for a bit but I read that it was somewhat broken and should be much better next update). But I want my base OS to be the best it can be, so I'll reinstall and then get another distro as something to mess with. I'm hoping it won't take too long to get back all my custom things to the clean install, like my conky setup and my emails, but I don't remember too much trouble last time. I also can't decide if this is a weekend project or I should start it now. I'll probably to the backup tonight and the reinstall another day this week.
This week is actually pretty busy for me. I didn't notice until I was trying to figure out a time to go to alexandria to retake a drug test for my internship (the last one was too diluted or something, oops). And I realized I'm pretty busy. Tomorrow I have lab 12-1:40, then 2-2:30 is vocal lessons, then 3-3:50 is class. And then I have work at the radio station to complete. Then dinner. On wednesday it's class at 9:15 to 10:20 then break until 1-2:05 class and then radio work from then until my radio show which is at the same time this semester, Wednesdays 4-6, you all should try and listen. And then I have more free time on Thursday and friday, but still I'll be running around most likely.
I wrote a song today in A.I. and I can't figure out if it's good enough or done enough to play at open mic this Thursday. Tough decisions.

Sometimes it takes a push

I haven't posted in a few days, but here I am now. I wanted something to come along that I could write about, and something fell into my lap today. I was checking the KUMM mail and there were a few things but one overly large package from Urban Noize records. They send us kinda iffy street gansta rap albums. So I open it up and it turns out to be a small promo pack. It's got the usual two CDs and a clean mix and the info with the history of the bands and everything. but at the bottom of the envelope is something else: a strawberry flavored blunt wrap. It was quite funny and amazing. It made my day 10x better.
Then, having something to write about I went to the TMC to chill for my hours between classes. And I'm chilling and these two professors sit down at the table next to me. They start talking and I overhear a great story about a freshman student. It goes like this, one of the profs teaches one of the first year seminars that all freshman have to take. And he was explaining how different these two sections of the same class were. He couldn't place the difference, but he wondered if it was a difference in the dominant gender of the class. The great example he brought up was of a very pretty female student that made a comment that wasn't well thought out or with the point very much. In response to this, a male student ripped into her about it, being sarcastic and condescending and all sorts of rude. And the professor thought to himself, is this kid ever going to have sex?
I had to keep myself from chuckling too hard at that, but it was pretty good.
